Now we get into the early church. We'll see some exciting things - God works some pretty awesome miracles. Have you ever seen a miracle of God? Share about it.
OK, seriously? No one has seen God perform a miracle. Here's one from me: in high school on a missions trip to Mexico we (a group of youth) prayed for a man crippled on one side. He walked out of the church service that night completely whole. Another night our bus driver prayed for a little girl who was limp in her father's arms, passed out with an extremely high fever. The father was desperate for prayer, but only our bus driver was available. He prayed for the little girl and she immediately shot up in her father's arms, jumped down and began to play with the other kids. The father was speechless!
About 10 years ago while I was living in Los Angeles, I was driving through South Central on my way to LAX airport. My car stopped working in the middle of a busy street in Inglewood, and out of nowhere a man came up and helped me push the car to the gas station, and then when I was safely there, I turned around to thank him and he was gone. I know God sent an angel to get me to safety!
I was having the hardest time finding work. I'm a single mom that doesn't get child support, so my savings was going down drastically paying bills. I applied every store, warehouse! and No one would reply to me. Finally I was on my last hundred dollars and I happened to go to an Assisted Living home near my house, and they hired me without an interview. And it's been the best job I've ever had! I bet if I would have gotten those other cleaning, or warehouse jobs I wouldn't have been so happy. So God saved me just in time, and not to run out of money either :)
One early morning in November of 1999 around 2 am, I struggled with expressing my heart before the Lord. Hours seem to go by and I tried my best to "pray" as a Christian would for something so important. Finally I felt impressed to just speak exactly what was on my heart and stop beating around the spiritual bush! "Lord, I want a biracial baby girl. I would love to have her before Christmas so that we could take her to Utah with us." Impossible right, after all it was November, we had no money being full time missionaries to cover adoption costs and legal fees. December 14, 1999 we received a phone call...December 16 we picked up our beautiful baby daughter and on the way to the hospital a gentleman called on my cell phone to wish us a very merry Christmas and to inform us that all legal fees and adoption costs had been taken care of. December 20 we flew to Utah with Hannah Lynne to introduce her to the family! I was a new mommy completely undone by the loving gift from a gracious God! All things are possible with Him! Even as I write this I can't help being in tears. He is so so GOOD.
