It's good to be reading! Here are some random thoughts for today's readings:

I love verse 1:14. Jesus came full of grace and truth. This verse has helped me understand that we should have a balance of grace and truth. Too much grace and we could let sin go unchecked in the church, too much truth and we find ourselves going down a path of self righteousness.

ReplyDeleteI do not believe that you can have too much. I believe that the two be balanced. Truth preached with little or no grace and it can become legalistic, Grace preached with little truth and sin in the churched becomes excused. I was reading Corinthians a while ago, and their church was filled with excusable sin from the lack of truth. This is just my opinion.
